 Whataroa is a small township just north of Franz Josef Glacier (about 32 km) population 400. Most amenities are on the State highway which runs through the town. 

Our accommodation complex is right in the middle of the township and is an easy stroll to the shops and hotel. There is also a petrol station in the town. Meals are available at the café across the road where you can also buy milk, bread, daily papers and all the other essential groceries.

The local hotel hosts the world famous “stone grill” dinner as well as a blackboard menu.

 The motels are situated in a very peaceful setting and in the summer you can have your breakfast el fresco and listen to the birds singing.

From the kitchen windows your view is Mt Adams which towers above the town.

Mount  Adam (2223Metres), which can be seen from your kitchen window, is extremely beautiful at sunset.

Base yourselves in our little town and do all the wonderful walks in the Glacier and Okarito area and remember, the White Heron Sanctuary tour is right at your doorstep.
